December 20-23: Almost Done with Your Shopping?

If you are like me and still running around doing last minute shopping check out these two events downtown with great sales and Holiday cheer!

Last Chance! Downtown Holiday Market
Dec 7 - 23
Noon to 8:00pm
F Street between 7th and 8th NW
Site: http://dhm.reiel.com/dhm/

From Noon to 8:00 pm, the sidewalk on F Street between 7th and 8th in front of the Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture is a Holiday Market offering the best of local artisans (many, if not all) are from Eastern Market. Selling a diverse array of goods including: art, crafts, jewelry, textiles, photography, pottery, clothing, prepared food and other high quality gift items. Enjoy live entertainment and refreshing food and beverages while you shop.

Standouts are the funnel cakes that mentally take you back to hot summers on the beach and pulled pork sandwhiches. Be sure to go to the Russian Classics booth where Tatiana Gottshall sells egg ornaments with Washington monuments colorfully painted on them. A twist on those boring gray paperweights shaped like the Washington Monument or the Capitol. Also check out the quality jewelery at Karen Clark's booth. Designs can be found on her site at apexspirecollection.com.

In this time of giving to our loved ones and ourselves, stop at the Covenant House booth and buy or donate to a charitible program. Covenant House Washington is a privately funded childcare agency that provides shelter and services to children and youth who are homeless or at great risk. Products of The Artisan Program like carved wooden boxes and book marks are on sale at the market. To find out more about Covenant House Washington their site is http://www.covenanthousedc.org/

There are many other stands on the market so be sure to check them out.
